加藤 美砂子KATO Misako

東京都中野区出身 中学・高校と生物部に所属し、生物学にはまる。陸上植物と微細藻類を対象とした研究を行っている。
1985年 お茶の水女子大学大学院理学研究科修士課程生物学専攻修了。1988年 理学博士（東京大学）。東京大学医科学研究所、川崎製鉄株式会社、株式会社海洋バイオテクノロジー研究所の勤務経験ののち、1995年にお茶の水女子大学理学部に着任。現在、お茶の水女子大学理事・副学長、公益社団法人日本植物学会理事。Dr. Misako Kato born in Nakano, Tokyo. She belonged to the biology club throughout junior high and high school, where she became deeply engaged in biology.She conducts research on terrestrial plants and microalgae.
She completed the Master’s Program in Biology at the Graduate School of Science, Ochanomizu University in 1985, and received her Doctor of Science from the University of Tokyo in 1988. After working at the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Tokyo, Kawasaki Steel Corporation, and the Marine Biotechnology Institute Co., Ltd., she joined the Faculty of Science at Ochanomizu University in 1995. She currently serves as a Trustee and Vice President of Ochanomizu University, and as a Board Member of the Botanical Society of Japan.
